That sickening feeling going home from the doctor. Like life is suspended. And your job is just to wait for your body to expel what you so desperately wanted to embrace…which goes against our very souls as women… Thank you again, both of you, for sharing. We woman are just too quiet about this “way” we became mothers… There’s a sweet naivety about pregnancy and expecting and an anticipation that is just completely stolen from us when we have our first miscarriage, and we never get that back. I’ve miscarried three times and it’s so strange to be a mother with empty arms… Ruth, have you ever heard Karla Adolphe’s album called Honeycomb Tombs? It ministered to me so much last year and sometimes I sit and just listen to the words and cry, choosing to spend some time remembering Haven, my first, Benjamin, and now most recently, Juniper… How my mother’s heart first felt when their existence spread across my life like a new sunrise. Every time. With every pregnancy and ultrasound… Thank you again for this today- I think I really needed it…
Much Love,
another mama bird…

here is the beginning of my little story..
