Time has come and gone, and I haven’t done a blog post in about a week. Gah! I assure you that I haven’t forgotten about my blog. In fact, I’ve been itching to get on here and write something. Needless to say, life has been a little more than hectic around here. Baby girl has been continuing to give us scares. We ended up in the hospital two more times with contractions close together and intense. Once again, they had to stop the contractions both times. The most recent was this past Saturday. They kept us overnight, and it took a while before the contractions stopped. The doctors decided to go ahead and give me steroid shots for her lungs, in case she decides to come in the next two weeks, which is very plausible considering the rapid changes my body has been going through. This mommy is exhausted, but I’m thankful that baby girl is staying put and continuing to grow for now.
On a lighter note, hubby and I decided to get a 4D ultrasound. Oh my goodness! She is so sweet and absolutely adorable! The moment we saw her little face on the screen, I gasped because I couldn’t believe how much she looks like our little Joshua. Her resemblance to Joshua makes me excited because he looks more like me, which means baby girl will probably look more like me. Yay! Don’t get me wrong. I think my husband is the most handsome man on the planet, but there’s something about your little girl looking like you (the mommy). Here are a few adorable pictures for you to feast your eyes on.
I did get some pictures at 33 weeks, so I will share one of those as well.
Baby’s Heartbeat: 140’s
Baby’s Size: approximately 19 inches and 5 lbs
Baby’s Gender: still a girl!
Baby’s Movement: Her movement has slowed down quite a bit, but that’s most likely due to the fact that she’s already been trying to come. So, there isn’t much room for her to move anywhere.
Baby’s Position: head down and very low
Weight Gain So Far: I don’t even want to say. I will preface with the fact that I normally gain 40-50 lbs with each pregnancy. It seems to “run in the family” because my mom and sisters gained about that much with each pregnancy as well. I usually lose about half my weight gain at birth, due to a lot of it being fluid. That said, I have gained 40 lbs so far.
Morning Sickness: afternoon nausea has seemed to return with a vengeance
Cravings: chocolate and cottage cheese (not together, I assure you)
Aversions: fruit and vegetables- This is due to the fact that any fruit seems to be giving me horrible acid reflux and vegetables keep making me burp badly. I can’t wait till I can start eating healthy options again without re-tasting them!
Body Changes: Daily contractions, bad lower back pain, and baby girl has dropped even more! Below is a comparison photo between 33 weeks and 34 weeks. You can see that she has dropped some more in just the past week!
Update on the glucose test: I tested negative for gestational diabetes! Yay! However, I tested positive for Group B Strep, which isn’t surprising because I had it with every single one of my other pregnancies. So, I will be hooked up to an IV with antibiotics while I’m in labor to help prevent baby girl from contracting it when she’s born.
For those who even know what it is, I lost my plug yesterday, so you know what that potentially means. Baby girl will most likely be coming much sooner than later. Since I have had multiple children, she could be here in the next few days!
