If you’ve been with me for the past few months, then you know I’ve been slowly sharing with you the changes we have made to our base house. Thankfully, our housing office is pretty lenient on what you can do, as long as the house is put back the way it was when you moved in. So, that has opened up a lot of options for us, allowing us to really make our base house a home. I can’t wait for you to see our guest bathroom!
Call me weird, but bathrooms are on the list of my favorite spaces to decorate. I don’t know why. I think it’s because the options are almost limitless, and bathroom transformations can be almost drastic by simply changing a few things, something as simple as the interior doors!
Since you all know that I LOVE the rustic look, I completely went for the rustic cottage style in our guest bathroom, and I’m really happy with how it turned out! Continue reading →
Sometimes when military wives hear the words “base housing,” they groan a bit. I’ll admit that I may or may not have groaned when I realized we were going to need to live on base when we moved to California. But, when we walked into our house full of white walls, white cabinets, white trim, white everything, I quickly became excited about the potential of what this blank slate could become. Be sure to stick around, after the dining room table reveal, for the awesome giveaway!

If you had been following my Instagram months ago, then you saw that I was working on this long and arduous project. If you missed that, then perhaps you saw the reveal on my Facebook page. If you didn’t see that, you’ll get to see it here! Yay!
My husband and I have always wanted a large dining table. Since our family has grown quite a bit over the years, our old table just wasn’t fitting our needs, and we felt like a can of sardines at every meal. Thankfully we weren’t actually eating them. Yuck! (No offense to those who like sardines. Just not my cup of tea, er . . . fish.)
I’d always wanted to make one of those artwork display boards that you see floating around Pinterest, but I never really got around to it. I just became too busy. So, the kids’ artwork continued to pile up on our fridge. The thing started to look like a freakish picaso. Thankfully, my wonderful, amazing husband came up with a solution while the boys and I were visiting my parents for Easter weekend. I’m loving the artwork display he made!
If you remember from my burlap banner post, we were looking for something that would fill in the space between the flag and the toy shelf. What better idea than a pallet wood artwork display? This seamlessly brought together both worlds – our decor and the boys’ play area – without looking weird.
As I told you in previous posts, hubby and I are slowly making over our house. We’ve been doing bits and pieces in random rooms. So, don’t be surprised if you see posts from different rooms before finally seeing a completed room reveal. We’re kind of ADD about the decor in our house. We start a couple projects before actually completing one. Hey, it always works for us. Why change what works?
One of the things we wanted to change was the decor above our bed. We had a few pictures hung there, but Continue reading →
