I love July 4th! I always have, and I think it’s kind of a no-brainer why I love it even more now. Along with the meaning behind this patriotic holiday, I also love all the sales that come with it. Come on, now, don’t tell me I’m the only one. You secretly (or not so secretly) love them too. And you know what else I love? (I know, I’m way overusing the word “love” here. I guess I just love it. Ha ha. Okay, bad joke. Is it naptime yet?) Anywho . . . I also love small businesses and home businesses. I like being able to support small business, because I can usually develop a relationship with those people, and it does my heart good knowing who the money is going to and that I get to play a tiny part in their success. Who doesn’t want to see their friends succeed?!

Because sometimes goals are what push me through . . .

I don’t know about you, but I always tend to feel more motivated when I establish goals for myself. When I don’t have goals, I meander like a wanderer from project to project and end up with a million incomplete projects and a room full of clutter. Sadly, I wish I could say I was figuratively speaking. *insert emoticon of monkey covering eyes here*

I know that this might be a post that few people will want to read, and I’m okay with that. I just wanted to put this out there for both accountability and well, to have it written typed down somewhere. And why not on my blog where the whole world can help keep me accountable? Hoo boy! So, will you do that? Will you help me stay accountable? Maybe even shoot me some encouraging emails or facebook messages when you see me slacking? All I ask is for niceness. I’m fragile. Lol! (Wow, yes, I totally just used “lol” on my blog. The English part of me is screaming at me right now. It’s called “creative license,” right?)

Anywho. I decided that I should set goals for myself on all levels during this deployment. My reasons being:

  1. Trying to meet each goal will help pass the time.
  2. It will get me in the groove of staying motivated and push me past the meandering phase.
  3. It will help me become more responsible. Man, this adulting thing can be so hard sometimes.
  4. It will (hopefully) make me into a better person overall.
  5. I want to be successful.

My hope is to update you all on my goals each month. You may or may not have to keep me accountable on that. Smh!

And now for my goals . . .
plant

PERSONAL

  1. Lose 60 lbs. Before my husbandbuy lasix online overnight deliveryt, I had told myself that I would lose weight while he’s gone and try to get back to the weight I was when Ian was a baby. When I initially set that goal for myself, the goal was 70 lbs. Well, I have lost 10 lbs so far and have 60 to go! It’s been rough and difficult. My weight has been going through some fluctuations. It probably has more to do with my emotions. Some days I feel great, and other days I just want to eat a tub of ice cream. Don’t judge. Being a mom is haaaaard!
  2. Cut our debt in half. This goal might be a stretch, but I know it’s possible! We had utilized Dave Ramsey techniques in the past but kind of got away from it before the move out here. Man, the move KILLED us financially! After talking to several other people who’ve had to make the move out here, apparently the story is the same for most. Poo! Anyway, my in-laws let us borrow the Dave Ramsey program, so I’m going to attempt to watch the videos and start being really serious about implementing his techniques.
  3. Spend time with the Lord every day. This is something that has already improved quite a bit since my husband left, but there’s definitely a lot more room for improvement.
  4. Establish a better daily routine for the kids. Things have been mostly on the fly lately, though we do have a few established things, like movie night. But, I want to try to fit some more things in and keep a good schedule going.
  5. Making chore charts for myself and the kids. I have found that creating chore checklists have become super helpful, so I’m going to create fun-looking ones that I can laminate and use over and over again.
  6. Take the kids to the park more often. I’ve gotten so bad about this, mainly because it’s been SO hot! But seriously, they need more park/outside play time.
  7. Create a good working schedule for all of my business needs!
  8. Finish baby nursery. Ack! Our poor baby girl still does not have a completed nursery. This is not okay! This needs to be done ASAP!!

BLOGGING

  1. Blog at least 3 times a week. I have gotten a bit slack on my blogging. A part of me is thinking, “Is this too much of an aspiration? Will I run out of things to write about?” Well, with my crazy life and the millions of thoughts that run through my head every day, I can’t believe I asked myself that second question. But, as far as time is concerned, I don’t want to end up shooting myself in the foot. I guess we’ll see!
  2. Write free E-book. I mentioned my e-book plan on facebook and to my current email subscribers. I’m going to be writing an e-book that will be available for free through this here blog, and I am so excited about this project! My hope is to have it finished by mid-July.
  3. Run a new giveaway once a month. Speaking of which, I have an can you buy lasix online going on right now! Be sure to go check it out!!
  4. Respond to comments and emails within 24 hours. Oh man, I struggle with this a lot. I always eventually get around to my responses days or even, weeks later. That is not acceptable, in my opinion! I seriously need to do better with this!
  5. Be more interactive on social media and through emails.

ETSY SHOPS

  1. Check for messages and orders every day.
  2. Work on orders on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, if there are any orders to make.
  3. Create and add at least one new item per shop once a week.

2e9b0cb2

PHOTOGRAPHY

  1. Learn more and practice. Practice makes perfect, right? I know there are so many things I have to learn about photography and editing. So, I will dive in and learn what I can with whatever time I have.
  2. Book at least one photo shoot per month. Because photography really is a back-burner project for me right now, a photo shoot per month is fine with me!
  3. Complete current editing projects.

There might be more projects that I’m totally not thinking of, but my brain is a fried noodle right now.

That’s all, folks! Stay tuned next month for the follow-up progress post and help me stay motivated along the way!

Do you have any goals for this year? Feel free to share them with me in the comments!

Tragedy struck our family this Christmas, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t still reeling from it. I keep finding myself in a strange fog that tries to suffocate, despite the promises of God that are constantly swimming around in my head. I can only imagine how my sister and her children must be feeling.

It was just days before Christmas . . .

“I’m so sorry to hear about your brother-in-law this morning. I’m praying for your sister and your family.”

I stared at the text in disbelief and gulped in air as panic rose in my throat. I rubbed my tired eyes and read the text again. Yes, it said what I thought it said. I then scrambled to find out what she was talking about, even though I was pretty sure I knew. Little did I know that my family had been trying to get ahold of me and, for some reason, the calls weren’t coming through.

My oldest sister’s husband had suddenly passed away.

12309709_10156444743645647_3445948389443834771_o

My fear became reality. I kept sucking in air to fight back the dam of tears that was on the brink of exploding.

My sister had texted the night before, saying that she and her husband were at the ER because he was experiencing excruciating pain. We had stopped everything to pray for him. But honestly, I think everyone in my family had a bad feeling in the pits of our stomachs. Something just didn’t feel right.

“Becca, I just want you to know that we’re still praying. I’m so sorry your family is having to go through this.”

I had no idea that my last text would be sent a mere hour before his passing.

“Babe! Babe! Harley . . . he . . . Harley passed away last night.” I shook my husband awake, panic filling my voice and heart.

Evan jolted upwards, “No! No!”

I couldn’t hold it back anymore. The dam exploded and sobs racked my chest. “Those poor kids. My poor sister. Oh, my sister! Those kids! Why? Why, God, why?” Evan wrapped me up as I heaved.

It’s amazing the confusion that tragedy suddenly brings. The pain of this world is always confusing, and the “why” bounces around like a ping-pong ball. The “why” is what causes many to not believe in God. It’s what causes many to fall away from Him. I’ll admit that I struggle with the “why.” I don’t know why, and I don’t know if I’ll ever understand. Why would God allow my sister’s family to lose their husband and father at such a young age? My nieces and nephew are now without a father. My sister is suddenly without a husband.

12307389_10156444745200647_978401475556725873_o

This Christmas ended up being filled with a lot of grief, yet there was an abundance of love.

I got to witness that love through my sister and the people in her life. You never realize the impact you’ve had on people until there is a loss. I’m pretty sure my sister was unaware of the multitude of lives she and her husband laid imprints on until this past Christmas. People from all over the world started showering her and her children with overwhelming love and support. I watched a church community rise up and meet their needs in the most tangible ways. It was both breathtaking and humbling. It caused me to stop and think . . . Have I made such an impact?

To know anything about my brother-in-law, Harley, you’d have to step inside his tall, 6’8” frame and see the world from above. He had a way of making people look beyond him to Christ. When you tilted back your head to look up at him, you couldn’t help but keep looking upward. Perhaps that’s why God made him so tall. God used him as a physical example of a life pointed towards heaven.

Before Harley’s funeral, my sister had asked me to write a eulogy to be read at his memorial service. As I thought back over the twelve years that he and my sister were married, I kept coming back to one thing – his fervent trust in God’s plan . . .

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” This verse in Hebrews adequately describes Harley, as (many might not know) he was like a modern day Abraham. A couple times over the past 12 years with his wife and family, he felt God leading him to “go” even though he did not know where he was going or how the details would work out. But, like Abraham, he obeyed and trusted that God would take care of him and his family. It wasn’t easy. Going to a new place and not knowing the details is never easy. Yet, Harley continued to trust God and His plan, knowing it would all work out for glory of his Heavenly Father.

This is how he always approached life . . . with quiet, fervent faith. Some men take on life with a fiery vigor, leaving a path wherever they go. But, this was not how Harley approached it. He was special. This “gentle giant” had a way of quietly and gently leading every life he touched. His silent footprints were everywhere and it usually was only several moments after the fact that you knew he had been there and were overwhelmed by the awesome impact he had. He loved the Lord so much and expressed it in his devotion to his children, deep love for his wife, and care for his students. Oftentimes, during his breaks between classes, he would read his Bible and pray for his students. He truly loved them and wanted to see them accelerate, while glorifying God in the process. He cared more for their souls than their abilities, and this is how he coached as well. He pushed his team members to do their best and be their best because God expects our best.

He brought this mentality into his family by being a faithful and loving support to his wife, Rebecca, in everything she did. He was the quiet anchor who taught Becca how to relax when life was going crazy. He often asked her to just sit down and watch football (particularly Alabama football) or silly sitcoms with him, all the while insisting she sit right next to him. Harley and Rebecca did their best to make sure everything was done together as a family, even exercise. They made sure to take time to go to the park and go running and walking together. This was one of their opportunities where they could unwind and enjoy each other’s company.

But, Harley was more than just a great husband, he was an exceptional father, making sure he spent time with each of his children. He was a coach and teacher to A and D, leading them to Christ in everything they did.

184505_10156531113225647_5572644857748410388_n

He loved to lie on the floor and let Baby Girl wrestle with him while watching Wheel of Fortune with her. He enjoyed getting her to growl at he and D. He was just an all-around wonderful father who greatly loved his children.

12314734_10156444744890647_7755242225194833229_o

Harley is already greatly missed by so many. He touched lives everywhere he went, and anyone who knew him could count on him being an honest and devoted friend. He may have been quiet, but he was the kind of person you wanted on your side, loving you and encouraging you every step of the way. Now he is in the presence of his life’s devotion, his Heavenly Father. We know that if he could see the tears being shed today, he would tell us to stop crying and go watch some football.

I shared this with you so that you could get a good idea of the kind of man Harley was. Through the fog of the pain of losing him, I’m reminded of the hope we have in Christ. Though my heart is weak right now, I know there is hope because God promises it. He promises that someday my sister will be reunited with her husband and her children with their father. That hope is what carries us through. It’s what carries me through the loss of Andrew and our other babies. It’s what carries my grandmother through the loss of two husbands. It’s what carries me through the dark clouds of depression. There is hope. Hope that this pain-stricken world will pass away and God will make all things new. It was how He intended it to be. This pain was not His plan. But, He always brings purpose through the pain and one day He will wipe away all of our tears to have them never return again.

Do you have that hope? If not, do you want that hope? Please let me share it with you. Let me tell you about the love of Jesus that abounds beyond measure. Please let me meet you in your pain. I promise you are not alone. Email me. Message me. Let me tell you about God’s hope!

Okay, I promise that I am not ignoring my blog. Let’s just call it prioritizing. Moving to California and getting finally settled into our new home has taken up so much of my time. On top of that, I’ve been having a lot of health issues, including chronic pain and fatigue. Last week, my doctor did tests and x-rays to check me for Lyme’s and/or Rheumatoid Arthritis. There is a possibility I’m battling Fibromyalgia as well. Oh boy. Go me. Oh! And then our van broke down, and we suddenly had a ton of unexpected financial issues. Don’t you just love life? I’m so thankful for an amazing heavenly Father who gets us through these seasons with our hearts, if not emotions, somewhat intact! Anyway . . . I know I don’t really have to explain myself, but I just wanted to give a little insight to our life lately. Of course, add the holidays to all of this, and it’s one big disaster of no blogging, very little sleep, and going a bit crazy. Please tell me I’m not the only one who feels like she’s losing a bit of sanity each day.

Weightloss Wednesday

So, remember when I had talked about going on a weightloss journey and was going to blog about it? Well, silly me had thought that I would start that before moving and be successful. Ha ha ha ha ha! I now laugh at my premature ambitions. How in the world did I think that I would be able to keep up a good diet while living in the car, hotels, and temporary housing for over a month? Hee hee hee! I giggle at myself.

Well, when we finally got settled in our home on base, I was able to actually buckle down and start the weightloss journey. If you’ve been following my cheap lasik eye surgery in houston, then you’ll have seen some of those results! (I’ve been pretty good about updating on Instagram.)

So, when I first met with my doctor over a month ago, she did some bloodwork to start trying to figure out the cause of all my health problems. What she found in that first set of bloodwork was that I was pre-diabetic. When her nurse called to tell me, I was scared, upset, and frustrated. I talked to my family and sought advice. The last thing I want is for this to turn in type 2 diabetes. It was time to take action. When one of my older sisters heard about my condition, she asked if I wanted to try the 21 Day Fix program, if she bought it for me. How could I turn that down?! Why yes, of course I want to try it!

The 21 Day Fix program is awesome because it’s not really a diet. It just teaches you good nutrition by way of food you should be eating and the portion sizes of those foods. There is also a coordinating 30 min workout with each day. I must say that this program is the easiest of all things I’ve tried, and the results definitely speak for themselves.

I have finished my first round and can excitedly say that (after some weight fluctations), I am officially 14.6 lbs lighter than when I started! I was really bad about doing update pictures, so this is all I have. I got pictures on Day 3 and Day 13. But, you can still see even the comparison then!

comparison1

By day 13, I had lost 11 pounds! If you ask me, those are fantastic results! Oh, and I couldn’t find my tape measure among all the moving boxes, so I wasn’t able to get measurements. Poo!

comparison2-1

My obvious weight loss areas were my face, chest, stomach, gut, butt, and thighs. (You can even see the definition in my rear-end in the day 13 picture above.)

visual2

visual

There are some things I need to admit:

  • I cheated sometimes. But, when I did cheat, I made sure to count the equivalents of my cheat foods against my food portions for the day.
  • I refused to give up my flavored coffee creamer.
  • I couldn’t do the workouts. Because of the chronic pain I’ve been feeling, the workouts were making it worse, so I had to stop doing them after day four.

Things I LOVE about 21 Day Fix:

  • The workouts, when I did them, were actually pretty easy.
  • I never had cravings.
  • My stomach felt so much better.
  • I became regular bathroom-wise. (I know that’s probably TMI, but you know your body is getting healthier when regularity becomes a part of it!)
  • The program lets you eat a ton of protein! Eggs were my huge go-to. It’s a good thing I love eggs!
  • You can season your food pretty much however you please.
  • It’s not a matter of what you can’t eat but what you can. There are so many foods that you CAN eat!
  • It teaches portion control, which has always been one of my biggest issues.

If you’ve been following my Instagram, then you will have seen my most recent picture. I feel great and am looking forward to doing another round of 21 Day Fix after Thanksgiving. This time, I will be doing the Extreme program, hoping for even better results. I’m kicking myself for having cheated so many times this past round. I wonder how much better the results would have been. *sigh* Ah well! I’m just so thankful for the results I got!!

I confess . . . I might have stalked and asked around a bit until I found out exactly what house we’ll be getting on base. It’s nice! I’m excited. Don’t worry, I am not stalking anymore. I will leave the current residents to move out in peace.

I confess . . . hubby has been doing pre-deployment work-ups, and it stinks.

I confess . . . I marathon-watched the first season of “Fixer Upper” over a course of 2 or 3 days (with breaks in between when the kids were awake, of course). I am totally hooked on that show! I LOVE Joanna and Chip Gaines, and Joanna’s style is right up my alley! While I wait for the next season, I am currently marathon-watching “Land Girls.”

I confess . . . I ate ice cream for like 4 nights in a row. That is actually very surprising, considering I rarely ever eat ice cream. That’s what hubby being gone does to me! Ugh!

I confess . . . I feel like I might be going certifiably insane. The boys have been testing the boundaries like crazy, and this mommy is about to lose it handling everything in a calm, collected way. Ha! Ack! (But, our sweet little girl sure does make it easier to reign in the crazy.)

I confess . . . I am beyond excited about moving on base! I have a print-out of the floor plan of the house, and we have big plans. I will definitely be sharing these plans. I’m so excited!!!

I confess . . . I’ve been experiencing a lot of health issues over the past few months, including severe joint pain, swelling/numbness in my hands and feet, fatigue, etc. I go to the doctor next week to discuss a possible thyroid issue. Please pray that we can figure out what’s going on! (I will also be seeing a vascular specialist for my horrible varicose veins and superficial blood clots.)

I confess . . . we’ve started going towards more of a holistic approach with our children (including diet change) and have already noticed some wonderful differences! Up until we started, Joshua had been nonverbal and only screamed all the time. He is now saying words and seems to have a new word or two every day! Isaac was stuttering and all stuttering has ceased. Ian’s emotional meltdowns have calmed down a lot, and he’s handling upsetting situations (upsetting to him, that is) SO much better! I’d say this approach is working, and I look forward to see how much better and healthier our family gets over time!

I confess . . . my kids have been watching a lot more tv than I normally let them.

I confess . . . I’m in desperate need of a shower. Ah, the blessings of motherhood!

Do you have any confessions this week?

Please help me with future blog posts and let me know of anything you would like to see me write about! 🙂

cheap lasik eye surgery collection;travelDestinationsI confess . . . I am currently writing this post from my phone because we don’t have our Internet connected yet. Talk about time-consuming!

I confess . . . we have officially made it to California. Hence, my lack of posting for the past month. Trust me, those would have been stress-filled posts and probably not very enjoyable to read. Then again, maybe they would have been. Ha!

I confess . . . I am not very happy with the way housing stuff works. Long story short, we won’t be getting a house on base until November. But, God has been good! We were able to find a house off base that we can rent until we get our on-base house, and it is fully furnished (tvs, pots and pans and all)! I’m so thankful! Yet, I look forward to moving into our “permanent” house and being able to make it a home.

I confess . . . I have had several emotional breakdowns this month.

I confess . . .  we visited two of my sisters during our move out here, and it has made me miss them that much more! I hate being so far from them!!

I confess . . .  I’m loving having a baby girl! It’s so much fun to dress her up!

I confess . . .  I found a camera that I LOVE and will be saving up for it. I can’t wait! Maybe I’ll get it for Christmas. *hint hint, babe!*

I confess . . .  my fingers are starting to go numg from typing on my phone. I think I’m going to end it here.

What confessions do you have?

Friday-Confessions

I confess . . . that I have been secretly eating the Reese’s spread my mom bought for us, with a spoon. Yeah, I know it’s the last thing I should be putting into my mouth when I’m trying to lose weight. But, have you tried that stuff?! It’s sooooo good!

I confess . . . I’ve been driving Evan crazy with how detailed and overly organized I’m being with our upcoming yard sale this weekend. Hey, when you grew up with a yard sale guru, it’s kind of hard not to be overly organized. And besides, people are more apt to buy things when everything is organized and displayed properly.

I confess . . . Joshua lunges for his crib every time I go to put him down for a nap or bedtime, despite my desire to cuddle for a bit first. But, he never does the lunging when my husband puts him to bed. I’m just going to pretend I’m not jealous and turn my head to hide my tears of butt-hurtness.

I confess . . . I nearly cried when I looked at the pictures my husband took of me for next week’s Weight Loss Wednesday post. I know I just had a baby, but it’s still so discouraging to see my overweight self.

I confess . . . I’m feeling beyond overwhelmed with this whole where can i buy lasix thing.

I confess . . . We sometimes make our dog sleep in a different part of the house when he has gas issues. If you could smell these pooch farts, you would understand. You could probably cause an explosion by lighting a match to the fumes.

Welp, that’s all for today. Happy Friday, everyone!

I might be jumping the gun here, but I would consider myself a relatively seasoned military spouse. I’ve been supporting my husband in his military career for six years now. (He’s been in longer than that.) I’ve supported him through a lat-move, a  deployment, several training ops, promotions, a strenuous B-billet, bought a house while he was deployed, was a FRO assistant, had several children at the military hospital, learned the jargon, etc.

BUT (this is a big “but”) . . .

I’ve never gone through a PCS before.

SplitShire-6661

*GASP!*

I know. It’s crazy. To make it even crazier, neither has my husband. In all of his 9 years, he hasn’t PCS’ed before.

I suddenly don’t feel very seasoned anymore.

Overwhelmed is the word.

Not only have we never done a PCS, but we’ve never lived on the West Coast or done a cross-country move. We have about 3 weeks to get everything figured out, get our house sold or rented (which we are doing “by owner” and is also a first for us), and start the move. I’m slightly losing my mind. I know I’m forgetting something. I must be. We’ve never done this as just a couple, let alone with 4 young, very energetic children. (Okay, Evelyn isn’t exactly at the energetic point yet. But, she is a nursing infant. Enough said.)

Yes, we’ve known about our move for months now. But, when we found out, I was still going through deep depression, and I was dealing with a very difficult pregnancy. On top of that, my husband’s B-billet kept him away from home a lot, so he wasn’t able to help much at all. Needless to say, we feel like we’re having to pick up slack and do it quickly.

It might sound like I’m complaining, but I’m really not. I’m excited about the new adventure. But, I would be lying if I said I wasn’t ready for it to be all done and over with. I am so ready to be at our new duty station and start the next step of our adventure!

Oh, and we’ll be living on base, which is also another first for us.

Shhh! I know you want to gasp again.

I guess after all this, I really will be able to consider myself a seasoned military wife! Yay?

I mean . . . *cough* . . . YAY!

For those of you who have PCS’ed or lived on base before, any advice or encouragement would be greatly welcomed!

It’s hard to believe our baby girl will be a month old tomorrow! Where in the world has time gone?! Over the past two weeks, we’ve had family visiting, first Evan’s parents and then mine. Our kids have been so spoiled with grandparent time that they don’t know what to do with themselves now that the grandparents are all gone. Aside from being a bit on the nutty side, they’ve been taking it better than I anticipated. I think Evelyn is taking it the hardest because she now doesn’t have someone holding her 24/7. I wouldn’t mind doing baby-wearing, but I have the Moby Wrap and it just gets so cumbersome to put on sometimes. Not to mention, it just gets plain hot. So, if any of you mommies out there know of a better baby-wearing alternative, please let me know!

I wish I could say our life is getting a bit easier. But, alas, it isn’t really. We’re now in the throes of getting ready for moving cross-country, trying to sell or rent our house, and organizing a plan for our move. We’re planning to take it easy and do a lot of sight-seeing, while stopping to visit my oldest sister and her family on the way. I am SO stinkin excited! The last time I saw my sister was when Isaac was a baby. She had a baby girl months ago, so I will get to meet my new little niece! On top of that, she gets to meet Joshua and baby Evelyn. I’m tearing up just thinking about it. I miss my siblings so much. It stinks that we all live in completely separate states. *sigh* Ah, well, that’s life right now, so I might as well accept it for the adventure that it is and be thankful for the times I do get with my family. Oh, and we will be documenting our cross-country trip with you all. I can already tell you it’s going to be quite interesting. 2 cars, 6 people, and 4 of them under the age of 6 . . . couldn’t get more interesting than that!

So, remember when Bailey from “buy lasix from uk” came to visit months ago? I had buy lasix online from canada back in June and mentioned that I had done a photo shoot with her. I had planned to share the pictures from that photo shoot but then pregnancy issues happened, and well, you know, sharing it got substantially delayed. Well, I wanted to share those pictures with you now.

I should preface that I think she would make a great model! She’s gorgeous! Before we went off to do photos, I did her hair and makeup. I did something different from what she was used to and curled her hair. She absolutely loved it, thankfully!

And there you have Bailey the Model. She’s beautiful inside and out. I think her new boyfriend would agree. If you’ve missed it on her blog, she is now buy lasix from canada. I am so incredibly happy for her! The two were actually still just talking when she came to visit, so I was over the moon excited when I found out that they became official! She’s a dear friend, and I can’t wait to follow her love journey. Welcome to the military SO club, Bailey!

Coming soon on the blog . . .  Now that I am postpartum, I will be on a journey to lose all that baby flub and beyond to get back to the weight I was when my husband returned from Afghanistan 4 years ago. So, I have 29 lbs to lose to get to my pre-Evelyn pregnancy weight and then other 30 lbs to get back to my goal weight. I will be updating all of you on my weight loss journey each week. This will help keep me accountable. I hope.

Seriously? Your nails tell a story? I chuckled at the thought before I started to write this. But, I then started doing a bit of research probably unreliable internet surfing and found some interesting info regarding nail design and colors. The more I thought about it, I was like, “Huh, that actually seems kind of true.” Have you ever noticed how your mood or your personality causes you to gravitate to a certain color? I don’t know the science behind it all (nor do I honestly care to research deeply into it), but if you think about it, colors and designs have a way of representing who you are or what you are feeling. For example, when I’m angry, the color I would immediately associate with it is red. Don’t we all? (Okay, maybe you don’t, but I think a majority of people probably do. Yes? No?)

Keeping that in mind, is it possible that our nails say something about us? I’ll be honest and say that I usually don’t do much with my nails. I don’t have the time or money to run and get a pedicure, nor do I have the time or patience to paint my nails. I’ve got the voice of “Sweet Brown” running through my head saying, “Ain’t nobody got time for that!” But, I do try to keep my nails clean and “polished” looking (which apparently is also part of what your nails say about you).

Let me share with you a little bit of the “research” I found . . .

So, why in the world am I talking about all of this?

A little while back, I was contacted by Amanda Thompson of where to purchase lasix, who is a Jamberry consultant. She asked if I would be willing to do a post about Jamberry, if she sent me some supplies. I’ll admit that I wasn’t sure at first. The voice of “Sweet Brown” started running through my head. I thought, How in the world will this pregnant mom of 3 crazy boys find any time to put these nail things on?! Ain’t nobody got time for that! But, I decided to go ahead with it and see how it would go. I’ll admit that I was pleasantly surprised. Though my first attempt took me a little while, I found myself getting faster and faster with each nail. I know that the more I apply these Jamberry nails, I’ll become really quick at it which is a huge plus for a busy mommy like myself, who has very little time to spare!

I think the hardest part was trying to decide what designs to put on which nails. Amanda had sent me the wraps, “lasix for cheap.”

purchase lasix online

It was SO hard to decide which ones I wanted to use! I loved them all! They were pink and fun and immediately made me think of love and happiness. (See? There is some merit to my research findings!) My decision ended up being mostly based on what fit properly to each finger. I’ll explain more about that during the “how to” process. Of course, because I love all things DIY, I just HAD to show you how to apply these lovely little beauties!

First, you’re going to need the following supplies:

where can i purchase lasix

The most ideal thing would be to get these supplies from Jamberry. BUT, if you are short on money, you can certainly use what you already have, including just simply using a hair blow dryer as your heater!

Step One: Clean your nails with an alcohol wipe. (This gets any oils and dirt off your nails.)

IMG_8878-2

Step Two: Use the cuticle pusher to push back your cuticles. This step is very important!

order lasix overnight delivery

Step Three: Size the wraps to your fingernails. You want the wrap to be slightly smaller than your nail. If it’s at all bigger than your nail, you run into the issue of having overhang edges and possible peeling of the wraps. You certainly don’t want that to happen!

IMG_8880-2

Step Four: Use one of the wooden orange sticks to grab the wrap. Try to avoid touching the sticky side of the wrap with your fingers, as the oils from your fingers could ruin its effectiveness.

IMG_8881-2

Step Five: Use the nail scissors to cut the wrap in half.

IMG_8883-2

Step Six: With the wrap attached the stick, hold the wrap up to the mini heater (or your blow dryer) and heat for 3-4 seconds. (I think this mini heater is so neat! It has a stand and an easy-to-push “on” button on the back. Having this really helped speed things up a lot!)

IMG_8886-2

Step Seven: Apply the wrap to your nail, with the rounded side on the bottom edge of your nail (closest to the cuticle).

IMG_8887-2

Step Eight: Use your thumb to firmly press the wrap to your nail.

IMG_8888-2

Step Nine: Use the cuticle pusher to firmly secure the edges of the wrap.

IMG_8889-2

Step Ten: Using the nail scissors and nail clippers, trim off the excess parts of the wrap.

IMG_8890-2

Step Eleven: File the edges of your nail by filing in a downward motion. Do NOT file from side to side! The idea is to get the tiny bits of edge of wrap off the end of the nail without ruining the wrap.

IMG_8891-2

Step Twelve: Hold your wrapped nail up to the heater for 10-15 seconds to help the wrap securely adhere to your nail.

IMG_8892-2

Step Thirteen (optional): Apply the nail oil to your cuticle and sides of your fingernail.

IMG_8894-2

And voila! You are done! Repeat this process for the rest of your nails. I promise that it does get easier and quicker with each nail.

IMG_8895-2

I’ll admit that I wasn’t exactly sure about this particular nail design. But, I love them! Not to mention, these beauties hold up to a lot! I’ve been wearing these wraps for a while now, and I haven’t had any issues with the edges coming up or them peeling/scraping off. I haven’t been trying to be careful with my nails at all, and they still look good! I can’t wait to try other designs! This skeptic has now been turned into a customer. Even my kiddos have been admiring my new nails. For my active boys to notice these little beauties is quite something!
