Blog Reader Survey 2015

I’d like to improve my blog, and I need you (my readers) to help me! I’ve created a list of questions to help me get to know the demographics of who is reading my blog and what your preferences are. I will not be asking any sensitive personal information. These are just general questions to help me know my readers better.

This survey is going to be open until midnight on Friday, June 26. I would greatly appreciate if you could help me improve my blog! Please fill out the survey below or you can go {here} to open the survey in a new pop-up.

The Marine Behind The Blog: On Having A Girl

A while ago, I saw a “Boy Behind The Blog” link-up that I had wanted to get involved in but never got around to. That link-up has been over for a long time, but I still loved the idea. So, I wanted to start doing a “Marine Behind The Blog” series. I write so much about our lives, but rarely do you ever hear from my husband. Here’s your opportunity to get to know him a little better. (Btw, I think he is such a hottie in this picture! Just sayin.)

Taking A Break, Need Guest Bloggers, and Another Giveaway

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and soul-searching lately and have come to realize that I need to take some time to prioritize. Blogging is a hobby, but I’ve let it become more than that as of late. I’ve let it overshadow some of my responsibilities. I don’t want that to happen, and I certainly don’t want it to continue this way. I’d almost forgotten why I started blogging in the first place – to share my heart, to share projects and ideas, and to keep in touch with friends and family, including the friends I’ve made through the blogging community. Writing for my blog started becoming something I felt I “needed” to do. I want it to continue to be fun for me. But, most of all, I don’t want my family to feel neglected in any way. I feel like I do a pretty good job of prioritizing this, for the most part. But the thing is, blogging was starting to consume my mind. I don’t want my mind to be distracted from the joys of my children. I don’t want it to deter me from my responsibilities that lie in taking care of my family and our home.

It’s not just the blogging. It’s been my Etsy shops, as well. So, it’s time for me to take a break to prioritize and re-think my schedule. I’ve decided to take an online vacation for the month of July. I will be limiting Continue reading

Blogging Goals 2014

Once again, it is well past midnight, and here I am just now starting a blog post. I knew that blogging was going to be hard even before I started it. A friend told me all the things that I needed to get sorted such as hosting on linux or something similar and that took a long time to plan. But she forget to mention how hard it would still be once I had everything set up. You would have thought that I would have learnt by now. But boy, I sure do need to get out of the habit of doing this! (Maybe I should add it to the list.) Then again, it’s the only way stuff gets done. Good thing I’m a night owl! Although, my night owl abilities have been staggering as of late. Exhaustion is kicking in a whole lot quicker than usual. My little nuggets have been running me ragged. Not to mention, I just have a lot on my plate period.

~ By the way, don’t forget about your opportunity to ask me questions, any questions at all. Head on over to the {post} to see what I’m talking about. I’m going to be putting together my “Coffee With Lydia” video some time this week.

Any-who, I just wanted to use this post to share my blogging goals for this year. I had established some goals for myself at the beginning of the year and have actually done pretty well on some of them so far. But, I’ll admit that I’ve been allowing myself to get lax on them. I know that it’s because I don’t have accountability. So, I thought there’s no better way than to just share them with the world. Whether or not you (my lovely readers) physically help me keep accountable, just putting it out there will help me. It will also help me feel better by looking at all the things I’ve already accomplished. So, without further ado . . .
