Tragedy struck our family this Christmas, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t still reeling from it. I keep finding myself in a strange fog that tries to suffocate, despite the promises of God that are constantly swimming around in my head. I can only imagine how my sister and her children must be feeling.
When it comes to health, you’re always making sure your family is well-taken care of. But, it should come to no surprise that pregnancy and birth are, perhaps, the most taxing events that a woman’s body can possibly go through. If you have been with my blog for the past few years now, you know that I am currently Continue reading →
Today is my birthday! It’s my Golden Birthday, to be exact! Yes, that means I am now 28 on the 28th. So crazy! I feel like the closer I get to 30, the less old it feels. When I was younger, 30 seemed so old, but now I wonder why I always thought that. Maybe I am old and am just in denial, or maybe 30 is the new 20. Who knows?
Anyway, to celebrate turning 28, I thought I would keep the idea of doing a list on my birthday, for the number of years that I am. I originally was going to do, “28 Things I’ve Learned Throughout My Life,” but then I thought it would be better to talk about things that I’ve learned as a military wife. I’ve learned quite a lot, some humorous and some serious, but all have helped make me a better support for my husband and his job (I hope)!
We are moving. I’m still struggling to grasp that fact. I knew this time would come. The time when the Marine Corps would move us away to another area. I know. Duh, Lydia! That’s the military! But, you see, we’ve actually been pretty lucky blessed to have not had to move yet. Crazy, I know! In my husband’s almost nine years in the military, this will be our first official move. We have been truly blessed.
It’s amazing how much you realize you love a place after you are told you’re going to be leaving. For the past couple of years, I had been scrambling and praying for us to be moved somewhere else, and now I’m practically clawing to stay. But, it’s not the area that I’m going to miss. I can honestly say good riddance to the area itself. It’s the people. It’s our church. In the last year, we started attending a new church and fell in love with all the people there! We made wonderful friendships; friendships that are going to last, for sure. These people, this church reached in and Continue reading →
I am so excited to tell you that today’s blog post is brought to you by Sierra & Faith of Winks and Eyerolls! These lovely ladies are two beautiful sisters who share a blog. They are incredibly close and love to share about fun fashion tips, recipes, DIY projects, and the journey through parenthood as a first time mom. Because there are two of them, and they both have unique life moments, I asked if they would do two blog posts for me. So, you will be seeing them again next week! The reason I asked them to share two posts is because one sister is married and the other is dating. I knew many people would benefit with something from either side. So, today we are going to hear from the married sister! These girls are both equally sweet, and I know they would LOVE if you stopped by their blog! (Be sure to keep reading, because they are offering some great giveaway prizes at the end!)
