If you’ve been with me for the past few months, then you know I’ve been slowly sharing with you the changes we have made to our base house. Thankfully, our housing office is pretty lenient on what you can do, as long as the house is put back the way it was when you moved in. So, that has opened up a lot of options for us, allowing us to really make our base house a home. I can’t wait for you to see our guest bathroom!
Call me weird, but bathrooms are on the list of my favorite spaces to decorate. I don’t know why. I think it’s because the options are almost limitless, and bathroom transformations can be almost drastic by simply changing a few things.
Since you all know that I LOVE the rustic look, I completely went for the rustic cottage style in our guest bathroom, and I’m really happy with how it turned out! Continue reading →
Sometimes when military wives hear the words “base housing,” they groan a bit. I’ll admit that I may or may not have groaned when I realized we were going to need to live on base when we moved to California. But, when we walked into our house full of white walls, white cabinets, white trim, white everything, I quickly became excited about the potential of what this blank slate could become. We were told we could paint and hang things on the wall. That was good enough for me!
Be sure to stick around, after the dining room table reveal, for the awesome giveaway!

If you had been following my Instagram months ago, then you saw that I was working on this long and arduous project. If you missed that, then perhaps you saw the reveal on my Facebook page. If you didn’t see that, you’ll get to see it here! Yay!
My husband and I have always wanted a large dining table. Since our family has grown quite a bit over the years, our old table just wasn’t fitting our needs, and we felt like a can of sardines at every meal. Thankfully we weren’t actually eating them. Yuck! (No offense to those who like sardines. Just not my cup of tea, er . . . fish.)
Back in July, I had provided an Instagram sneak-peek of my in-laws’ A-MAZING backyard paradise. If you missed it, then you are in luck because I am going to provide a mini tour right here. There is nothing like feeling like you can escape from life and enjoy peace. That’s the feeling that I get when we visit our in-laws’ house in the summer and have the privilege of reveling in the paradise of their backyard. It’s so serene and peaceful, complete with a wooden swing and the sound of running water traipsing its fingers across the stones of their pond. Colorful fish dance among the bubbles, eagerly waiting to be fed. A soft breeze sweeps across the flowers, carrying with it the scent of spring. It’s beautiful, refreshing, and reminds me of God’s love for beauty in His creation. We certainly do have an incredible God! I will say nothing more and just let the pictures speak for themselves.
If you’ve read my DIY Rope Vase post, you’ll know that I have been up-cycling some of the plain glass vases that we have in our house. I’m back with another tutorial in the up-cylced glass vase series. I’ve always loved book page projects. I think they’re so chic looking. Maybe it’s just because I am an avid reader (when I have the time, of course). But, I really do think book pages add a unique, vintage-y look that you wouldn’t be able to get otherwise.
In this post, I’m going to show you how you too can transform an ordinary glass vase into a unique, chic one. Continue reading →
